Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Early breakfast, then leave Arusha and travel about 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. The park is one of the hidden secrets of Tanzania due to its spectacular scenery with rolling hills, tall baobab trees, and the life-sustaining Tarangire River.

Some attractions of the day are:

Elephant herds: Tarangire has the greatest population of elephants found in Tanzania. You will probably find families sitting around the banks of rivers.

Predators: Lions, leopards and cheetahs are found in the grasslands.

Endangered species: rarities include fringe-eared oryx and kudu, species that are hard to see in other parks.

Birdlife: Tarangire has over 400 species of birds, many of which include the colorful lilac-breasted roller and hornbills.

You will get to have a picnic lunch in the park and enjoy your meal in the presence of the wildlife. Later in the afternoon, you will be driven to Farm of Dreams Lodge in Karatu, a small town, where large cottages and gardens offer an ideal place to rest.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Breakfast and then take a scenic drive across the Ngorongoro conservation area and into the Serengeti. The trip will cover approximately 5 hours, and there will be ample time to take pictures of some of the spectacular sites of the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro highlands.

When you pass the entrance of the Serengeti National Park the great savannahs open endlessly in front of you. Here is Africa in its most archetypal form: the acacia-tree-studded plains, with their rocky kopjes.

Your afternoon game drive in the central Seronera Valley presents you with:

Lion prides resting on kopjes.

Cheetahs inspect the plains.

Leopards were fond of taking their time in acacia trees.

Wildebeest and Zebra herds are provided there is a great migration around the time you visit.

Fly into Intimate Camp Serengeti, a small luxury tented camp that will provide you with the real bush experience with the comforts of modernity. Have dinner under the stars and the sounds of the night come to life in the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park

Rise in the morning and spend the whole day in the Serengeti. The morning is the best time to see the predators at work because the lions and cheetahs use this opportunity to hunt in the cool morning.

Your guide will customise the day according to your interests. You might:

Follow a pride of lions on its way through the grasslands.

See elephants fill an opening in water.

Look through the tree tops at leopards.

Watch wildlife like secretary birds, ostriches, and vultures.

Picnic lunch will be taken in the bush to help you spend as much time as possible in the wild. Go back to camp in the evening, and have a campfire and a fine supper.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park

Take another day to see more of the Serengeti. As time goes on, you will be able to move out of more crowded areas to enjoy more secluded wildlife experiences.

You can also have an optional morning safari with hot air balloon. One of the most memorable safari experiences is the floating experience at the time of sunrise. The flight is completed with a champagne breakfast in the bush.

The rest of the day is spent investigating the various ecosystems of the park, including open plains and valleys along the rivers. Every time the song plays might be something phenomenal: a cheetah running after gazelles, a pack of hyenas eating, or the thousands of wildebeest in motion.

Camp overnight again in the Serengeti at Intimate Camp.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

In the morning, you can have a safari game drive in the Serengeti after breakfast, and then you can go back to Ngorongoro. On arrival, one goes down 600 meters to the base of the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest continuous volcanic caldera in the world.

A unique ecosystem and a high wildlife concentration make the crater popularly referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. You will likely see:

Every one of the Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and leopards.

Tremendous numbers of wildebeest and zebras are grazing on the crater floor.

Hippos playing in the pools and flamingos in Lake Magadi.

Picnic lunch in the crater then climb to the rim and head to Farm of Dreams Lodge to have dinner and stay.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park

Today, you visit Lake Manyara National Park, which is a small yet ecologically diverse park situated at the bottom of the Rift Valley escarpment. The habitats found in the park are groundwater, forests, acacia woodlands, open plains and the alkaline lake itself.

Expect to see:

The Tree-climbing lions form one of the unique attractions of the park.

Pink flamingos, other water birds on the lakeshore.

In the savannah we could see hippos, buffalo, and giraffes.

Baboons, vervet monkeys, and blue monkeys in the forests.

Finish the day with an exciting game drive, then picnic lunch, then drive back to Arusha. This will be the last evening in Tanzania.
